The short answer
Pause before acting on an unexpected SMS. Review its context, avoid following its links, and check the request through a channel you already trust. Aura can help review suspicious messages and manage senders, but detection is not a guarantee.
Start with the request, not the logo or sender name
An urgent delivery notice, account warning or unfamiliar request deserves a closer look. Ask whether you expected that message and whether it matches an action you actually took. A familiar-looking name alone does not prove a message is genuine.
Avoid opening an unexpected link just to find out whether it is safe. Open the organization's app yourself, use a saved bookmark or find its contact details independently.
Use Aura's review tools deliberately
Aura brings suspicious SMS into a review flow and lets you manage unwanted and trusted-sender preferences. Blocking and rule options can help reduce repeated unwanted messages; availability and limits depend on the feature and access level.
- Read the message in context before taking the requested action.
- Check Aura's spam review if you think a legitimate SMS has been filtered.
- Review the sender and relevant rule before deciding whether to block or trust it.
- Return to the organization's known app or contact channel to verify sensitive requests.
Detection can be wrong in either direction
A legitimate message can be flagged, and a harmful message can be missed. An unflagged message is not an approval or a promise that a link is safe. Review filtered messages when an expected SMS seems to be missing.
Sender formats can change, and the same message can be interpreted differently as rules change. Keep your preferences appropriate to the messages you receive; broad blocking rules can hide messages you wanted.
Keep private details out of troubleshooting
Do not send passwords, one-time codes, payment details or full private conversations when asking for help. A description of the behavior and a fictional example are better starting points.
If you already acted on a request you do not trust, use the affected service's official support or account-recovery channel. Aura's message review cannot reverse an action taken in another service.
